Standard Apple Trees

Stately, standard-size apple trees make impressive shade trees that double as a source for nutritious fruit. Once standard apple trees have grown to their full mature size, they may range anywhere from 18-25 feet tall and wide – or larger! Be prepared to use a ladder or a fruit harvester to help you pick the fruit. Standard apple trees may take longer to mature, but their large canopies provide more surface area, which equates to a greater quantity of apples than dwarf or semi-dwarf trees. These trees are long-lived and are productive for decades, and they are also great for providing food and shelter for wildlife.
