Strawberry Sensation Honeyberry Plant
Description
A productive Honeyberry with great taste!
Strawberry Sensation is a very popular Japanese-origin variety. The berries have a wonderful alpine strawberry aftertaste. This variety is a member of the Blue Treasure family, blooming in April and fruit ripening from mid-June to mid-July.
The honeyberries, sometimes referred to as Haskaps are ideal for fresh eating, freezing and blending. The fruit has an elongated, sometimes round shape. Its upright growth and vigor make it a great candidate for mechanical harvesting or U-pick farms.
This cold-hardy berry plant requires about 1,000-1,200 chill hours. Plant Strawberry Sensation Honeyberries in rich soil, with a pH between 5-7. For this specimen to produce, it’ll need a different honeyberry plant that blooms around the same time to pollinate it.
