They are often grown similar to grape vines, along a support system like a vertical T-trellis, an arbor, or a pergola. Once established and mature, kiwi vines will bear an abundance of berries year after year. The fruit of the kiwi berry plant is similar to the kiwifruit found in grocery stores, only its skin is smooth (not fuzzy) and the fruit itself is much smaller and sweeter. The kiwi berry is a great and healthy addition to salads and smoothies, with its high vitamin C content, and it even makes unique and tasty jams and jellies.
