Description

A prolific bearer that excels where McIntosh won’t. Tree is low-maintenance due to its natural disease resistance to apple scab, cedar apple rust, fire blight, and powdery mildew. Fruit has a yellow background with attractive red overtones, a crisp white flesh, and a harmonious sweet-tart taste. Perfect for fresh eating, cooking, canning or keeping – proper storage improves the flavor! Originates from Geneva, New York in 1955. Cold-hardy. Ripens in September. Why did you choose this?

Good for my location,

Disease resistance. I don't want to spray my trees.

Never heard of it before. I like the claim of disease resistant, and the fruit is crisp with tart/sweet flavor. Local orchard doesn’t know anything about it. I’m rolling the dice.

Apple rust resistent

Perfect Apple
This tree grew fast (Georgia) and began really bearing in 4 to 5 years. Never showed any rust or fire blight. We sold that house and the new owner cut the tree down. Unbelievable.

very impressed
i ordered two bare root Liberty apple trees. i was shocked when they arrived as basically two 4 ft. long sticks. i had ordered bare root before but only 1 ft long. i told myself they will not make it in the Mississippi heat. The trees leafed out grew a couple inches taller and are doing great. I have given them a little water almost every morning in the August drought. They look just as healthy as my three year old trees.

Growing the Liberty Apple Tree
My Liberty Apple Tree is doing great. It came recommended from a gardener in New Jersey. It was a bare root in dormancy when it arrived and once grounded it started leafing out soon after and is looking very well and growiing in this first year of planting. I also have 3 columnar apple trees from Stark and actually got a few apples this year even after replanting them in better spot this second year of my first planting. Thank you Stark Bros!
