Description

A new disease-resistant variety with excellent taste!

The RubyRush™ Apple Tree is an exciting new release from the apple breeding program at Rutgers University and New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station (NJAES). This selection is a cross between a GoldRush and an Enterprise. Prized for its scab-resistant traits, RubyRush™ also exhibits excellent resistance to fire blight and cedar apple rust. This fruit tree requires minimal maintenance, and you are more likely to have a nice harvest with less disease affecting your crop!

RubyRush™ has an excellent flavor, unlike some other disease-resistant varieties you might taste. The skin is not too thick, the fruit is juicy and aromatic with a desirable crisp texture – like a Fuji. In addition, these apples store well, up to 4-5 months in cold storage.

Another notable quality of this new cross is its harvest window. Expect these juicy apples to ripen in peak season, late September through the first week of October.

This is a vigorous apple tree and should be thinned during the growing season to avoid biennial bearing. It also requires a pollinator.

May be covered by USPP #33,546 or other patents.
