Also called sword fern
The grand dame of outdoor décor. A row of delicate Boston ferns hanging on a covered porch or above an arrangement of flower pots instantly draws the eye and makes an elegant focal point. May be grown indoors in indirect sunlight or planted in the ground in warmer climates (Zones 8b to 11). This tropical plant is a humidity-lover, but take care to place it only in full or mostly-shaded spots as the fronds will scorch if exposed to direct sun or extreme heat. Bring indoors when nighttime temperatures reach 62ºF or below. If overwintering indoors, place the pot on a tray of pebbles filled with ¼” of water to create a humid environment around the plant. Misting can invite foliage diseases and should be avoided. Plants have a weeping habit and prefer evenly moist, but not wet, soil. Arrives potted in a 10” hanging basket.
