About Nootka Rose Certified Organic Garlic

Nootka Rose Garlic is a flavorful Northwest heirloom originating from the picturesque San Juan Islands in Washington state. This organically grown softneck variety combines a striking appearance with a powerful flavor that will elevate your culinary creations. Whether you’re roasting, sautéing, or using it raw, Nootka Rose Garlic delivers a strong, zesty flavor that adds depth and character to your dishes.

Nootka Rose Garlic boasts medium to large bulbs with 15-20 cloves, each showcasing beautiful red streaks on a rich mahogany background. The crystal-white bulb skins gracefully transition into vibrant red-streaked clove wrappers. It’s a visually stunning choice for braiding, adding a touch of rustic charm to your kitchen.

How to Grow Nootka Rose Garlic

This versatile cultivar thrives in a wide range of climates, from wet to arid, and cool to hot. Nootka Rose Garlic can be planted in the fall or spring and typically matures in about 240 days for fall planting and 90 days for spring planting. For optimal growth, plant the cloves in well-drained, organically rich soil with full sun exposure. Space the cloves 4-6 inches apart in rows 6 inches apart, planting them 1-2 inches deep with the flat side down.

Nootka Rose Garlic is known for its exceptional storability, lasting up to a year, allowing you to savor its robust flavor long after harvest. The tops can be left on and braided into ropes for storage and decorations, adding both utility and beauty to your kitchen.

Our garlic is USDA certified organic, ensuring it’s grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilizers. This commitment to organic farming supports healthier, sustainable crops and enhances soil health, providing you with top-quality produce for your garden and kitchen.

A half-pound set of garlic contains approximately 3-4 bulbs. Each bulb contains several cloves for planting. Actual quantity may vary depending on bulb size.
