Description
About Purple Morado Certified Organic Garlic
Purple Morado Garlic is a highly appreciated Spanish hardneck variety, known for its intense flavor and high quality. This organically grown garlic features cloves with a purplish-brown coloring and a spicy, robust taste that stands out in both national and international markets. Each bulb typically contains 8-10 cloves, making it a versatile choice for a variety of culinary uses. The name “Morado” refers to the distinctive purple-red skin of the cloves, adding visual appeal to its exceptional flavor.
How to Grow Purple Morado Garlic
Purple Morado Garlic thrives in cooler climates and is best planted in the autumn for the highest yields. Plant the cloves in well-drained soil with full sun exposure. When the first six leaves turn yellow, lift and dry the bulbs in the sun or an airy shed. Harvest typically occurs from June to August. This variety also produces scapes, which can be harvested in early summer for additional culinary use.
Our garlic is USDA certified organic, meaning it’s grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilizers. This ensures healthier, sustainable crops, supports biodiversity, and improves soil health, providing you with the highest quality produce for your garden and kitchen.
A half-pound set of garlic contains approximately 3-4 bulbs. Each bulb contains several cloves for planting. Actual quantity may vary depending on bulb size.
