About Romanian Red Certified Organic Garlic

Romanian Red Garlic is a sought-after porcelain hardneck variety known for its robust flavor and impressive hardiness. Originating from Romania, this organic garlic produces large bulbs with 4-6 easy-to-peel cloves, wrapped in creamy white skins with purple-red streaks. Its rich, very hot flavor lingers when raw, making it a favorite among garlic enthusiasts and chefs. High in allicin, this garlic is also valued for its medicinal properties.

How to Grow Romanian Red Garlic

Romanian Red Garlic thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, suitable for USDA Hardiness Zones 3-8. Plant cloves 1-2 inches deep with 6-inch spacing, allowing approximately 36-48 linear feet per pound. This variety matures in late season, typically ripening in mid to late summer. Romanian Red Garlic also produces scapes, which can be harvested in early summer for an additional culinary delight. Romanian Red typically matures in approximately 240 days, providing a rich and robust garlic harvest. This vigorous and hardy variety is ideal for gardeners of all levels.

Our garlic is USDA certified organic, meaning it’s grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilizers. This ensures healthier, sustainable crops, supports biodiversity, and improves soil health, providing you with the highest quality produce for your garden and kitchen.

A half-pound set of garlic contains approximately 3-4 bulbs. Each bulb contains several cloves for planting. Actual quantity may vary depending on bulb size.
