Description

A looooong keeper! A firm, yellow early onion similar to Copra, but bigger, with higher yields and better size uniformity. Keeps for months and months. Medium-large bulbs have straw-colored skin and small necks that dry quickly. Much less sulfur than other varieties, resulting in that coveted sweet-onion flavor so loved in Maui and Walla Walla onions. Excellent raw on burgers and in salsa, and makes a wonderful French onion soup as it caramelizes beautifully. Use in any dish that calls for a less-sharp onion flavor. Introduced in Walla Walla, Washington in the late 1800s and a farm-market favorite ever since. Matures in 104 days. F1 hybrid. Long-day onion.
