Description
A superior canning tomato. Open pollinated from an Amish community in Wisconsin, but originally from Lancaster County in Pennsylvania. Giant, blocky, oxheart-shaped tomatoes have delicious red flesh — perfect for paste, sauce and “putting up” — crushed, diced or whole. Comparable to Roma, but with more “true tomato” flavor and fewer seeds. Sparse foliage allows more sun in, so fruit ripens more evenly. Indeterminate. Photo courtesy of Baker Creek Heirloom Seed.
