Dwarf Pear Trees

Dwarf pear trees, despite their comparatively small size, still yield about a bushel or so (on average; may vary by variety and environment) of full-sized pears — able to be harvested and maintained with ease, from the safety of the ground. These trees mature to be about 8- to 10-feet tall, and a narrow 6- to 7-feet wide thanks to their natural columnar growth habit. Dwarf pear trees make excellent options for “living fences” to line your yard, all with the bonus of edible fruit in the late summer or early fall. You can even grow these trees in containers if you are limited on space! Most pear trees require the presence of a different pear variety for pollination and fruit production, so plant a pair of dwarf pear trees and grow your own fresh, sweet fruit!
