Spur-bearing apple trees give you more bang for your buck! Unlike regular fruiting trees (which produce fruit only on the outside limbs of the tree), more compact spur-type apple trees allow fruit to form on the inside limbs--bearing fruit from the trunk, outwards. This unique style of bearing allows each tree to produce up to twice as many apples!
