When grown in a container, avocado trees prefer a deep watering over frequent, light watering. Deep watering promotes deeper root growth and strengthens your tree. It’s fine to allow the top of the soil to dry out in between waterings.
Good drainage is essential. Overwatering will cause the leaves to curl and the stem to soften. Underwatering will cause the foliage to wilt, dry and drop.
