Boreal Beauty Honeyberry is another late-season variety to extend your honeyberry season!
These elongated berries, also referred to as Haskaps, are sweet and tart, similar in flavor to blueberries. Beauty blooms in April with fruit ripening in June. These flavorful berries are often used for eating fresh, baking, jams and jellies, freezing.
Upright with very vigorous growth habit. Strong branching structure and develops dome shape crown. This variety is an excellent choice for U-picks and commercial-type orchards.
This cold-hardy berry plant requires about 1,000-1,200 chill hours. Plant honeyberries in rich soil, with a pH between 5-7. For this specimen to produce, it’ll need a different honeyberry plant that blooms around the same time to pollinate it. See recommendations below or look for another mid bloomer.
