Allegheny® Pawpaw Tree
Description
Precocious, productive and very early. A customer favorite! A fleshy, yellow fruit with a sweet, rich, silky taste that hints at citrus, mango and even avocado. Allegheny pawpaws are smaller than most, weighing in at about 8 ounces each. The trees are so productive that a little thinning may be desirable to keep the fruit size as large as possible. Skin stays green even when ripe. Perfect for a farm market – produces huge yields of smaller fruit that’s easier to manage in bulk. Tolerant of afternoon shade and resistant to pests and disease, as are most all pawpaws. Ripens in September. Grafted. For proper pollination, plant another variety nearby.
