About the Galaxy Peach Tree
The Galaxy Peach Tree, also known as flat peach, donut peach, bagel peach, and UFO peach, is a visual delight, bearing large and unique fruit that adorns its branches like otherworldly ornaments.
Gracing your garden with pinkish-white blossoms, this variety adds elegance to your landscape. Similar to the Stark® Saturn peach, the Galaxy Peach ripens in late July, offering an early-season delight for peach enthusiasts. These large, semi-freestone peaches feature soft, blushed-red skin enveloping a smooth, firm white flesh. Known for their sweet, low-acid flavor, the clear-white, firm, and melting flesh is a testament to the meticulous breeding that went into creating this extraordinary variety.
Originating from Parlier, California, this vigorous tree was introduced in 2003 and has since become a favorite among peach enthusiasts. Galaxy was selected in 1997 for its unique shape, large fruit size, good productivity, sweet, low-acid flesh, and attractive appearance.
How to Grow a Galaxy Peach Tree
Beyond its visual appeal, cultivating the Galaxy Peach Tree is a joy. A remarkable feature is its self-pollinating nature, eliminating the need for multiple trees for cross-pollination and making it a hassle-free addition to your garden. Thriving in well-drained, loamy soil, this tree prefers a sunny location. While generally hardy, keep an eye out for common peach tree pests such as aphids or leafhoppers, and ensure proper disease management to maintain the health of your Galaxy Peach Tree.
Requiring 500 chill hours, this tree is suitable for a range of climates. Its adaptability ensures you can enjoy the beauty and bounty of this extraordinary peach variety in various growing environments.
Incorporate the Galaxy Peach Tree into your orchard, and let this celestial creation redefine your peach-growing experience.

In terms of care, it's pretty low maintenance. During hot spells, I'd water it once or twice a week. It takes the 110+ degree heat like a champ! I have not used fertilizer on it, though I poured some spent potting soil at the base as well as ample mulch, which seems to work well. I don't usually bother with thinning out the blossoms, as not all of them come to fruition or harvest, nor do I do much in the way of pruning, though due to its location next to the patio, branches do get cut back to make way for people passing. It has a rather wide canopy, so be mindful of that when choosing a location to plant it.
Overall, I'm very happy with this tree. I highly recommend it to any prospective home fruit growers looking to add a unique and durable fruit tree to their collection.
I highly recommend this peach tree as it is low maintenance. I have drip running to it as we are in a drought most of the year. Using a thick native mulch helps. I use Epsoma Tree-Tone fertilizer twice a year, (1st around Jan and 2nd in late Apr). I choose to cut the top back substantially each summer as I made a rookie mistake in planting it too close to our house. If I did not, I would not even do that.
A major game changer this year was using a net that covered the entire tree to keep pests away. I was able to harvest all but 3 peaches (over ripe and covered with ants)!!! Total game changer...
Way too many peaches! I did not know these Galaxy peaches are white peaches and do not have enough acidity (or are not recommended) for canning. Meaning they go bad in 3-5 days. My freezer and refigerator are filled, husband took some to work and I took an entire medium sized Amazon box full to our kids summer camp. Now that everyone we shared the peaches with are hooked on these too. Lol!
Wonderful tree, just be sure you have helpers for picking when it is mature, a spot away from any foundations, and plenty of willing eaters to help enjoy them. Thank you Starkbros!

shape of peach
It's very popular in China, and is expensive in the USA supermarket.
Highly recommended by a friend for flavor; semi-dwarf size; and USDA hardiness zone compatibility for my location (zone 9).
