Description
Aromatic and flavorful. This relative of the onion yields smaller bulbs with a bold taste. Crisp texture livens up salads and sautées. Use in place of onions or green onions in recipes. Each bulb yields 3 to 4 shallots. Any bolting plants can be removed and used as scallions. Harvest in summer after leaves wither. Stores well.
