Description
Well worth the wait. A long-season classic that delivers on flavor like no other. Pretty lavender blooms lead to broad, attractive purple-black eggplants on sturdy two-foot plants. Plant in fertile soil, water with compost tea every two weeks and use a row cover to give the plants extra warmth, especially in northern climates. Mulch and keep well watered. Harvest when shiny and smooth, before the luster fades. Deer-resistant. Excellent fried, stuffed, pickled, in ratatouille or East Indian dishes. Photo courtesy of Baker Creek Heirloom Seed.
