Description
A dainty, round vegetable, so popular in France. Uniform globe-shaped carrots are easy to grow and have a scrumptious crunch and sweet, earthy flavor — a favorite choice of upscale chefs. One of the few carrots that can tolerate/grow in heavier soil. Requires full sun, adequate moisture but only average fertility. Surface-sow; press in gently and provide consistent irrigation. Flavor is fullest when lightly steamed or pan roasted. Best in cooler weather; produces good crops in both spring and fall. Frost-hardy. Photo courtesy of Baker Creek Heirloom Seed.
