About the Avalon™ Nectarine Tree

A beautiful tree that produces large crops of quality fruit, the Avalon™ Nectarines (NJN101 cultivar) is a new development from the Rutgers University breeding program in New Jersey. It is an improvement on Eastern Glo, one of its breeding parents, and ripens early, about 10 days before Redhaven. Avalon™ is a very attractive tree, with showy flowers followed by glossy red-orange fruits.

Characteristics of Avalon™ Nectarines

Avalon™ bears clingstone fruits with a juicy, melting texture and sweet, moderately acidic flavor. The firm fruits maintain their eating quality following cold storage. These yellow nectarines are excellent for canning, baking and of course, eating fresh.

How to grow an Avalon™ Nectarine Tree

Plant nectarine trees in full sun, with well-draining soil. This is a vigorous, upright tree with bacterial spot resistance. Avalon™ is a self-pollinating variety with uniform ripening. Harvest these delicious nectarines in mid-July.

May be covered by USPP #23,882 or other patents.
